5th COORDINATION MEETING
Verona (Italy), November 23-25, 2006
The partners of TRAINING ON STAGE met for the last time. All the partners
have collected suggestions and remarks on the software, but the first
impressions are actually positive. Our aim is to improve it, so that young
people as well as vocational training centres and performing arts enterprises
can use the software.
In order to make the software more useful, AGECIF has prepared a handbook. It
will give some suggestions how to use (and for what purpose) the software. It
will also advise human resources manager as well as trainers and guidance consultants
in counselling a young person entering a career in the performing arts. This
hand book will be soon available in hard copy and electronic version (to be
downloaded).
Take part to the testing phase of our software
YOUR OPINION IS IMPORTANT FOR US
The partners of TRAINING ON STAGE have implemented
the trial version of the software: see at http://www.trainingonstage.com. On this site you'll find an online software tool that will help you
assess your competencies and find out which professional profile (job type)
in the performing arts management sector best fits your skills and
competencies. To use this software you first need to register and sign in. It
will only take you a few minutes and you'll receive an e-mail with username
and password to enter the site.
You can use the software in two ways:
1- Answering the general questionnaire, you can
discover which professional profiles match your competencies best.
2- Answering the specific questionnaire, you can
find out how well your competencies match the requirements of a particular
professional profile. You'll find out your strengths in relation to the
specific profile, as well as any vocational training gaps that you will need
to fill.
After answering the questionnaire, you can go on
creating your personal Portfolio that will also contain the information from
your curriculum vitae.
You are invited to have a look on our software and
to evaluate it.
Please, download the evaluation form, fill in
it and send it back to: Fondazione
Aida – Training on Stage • fax 0039-045-8009850 • e-mail: info@trainingonstage.org.

4th COORDINATION MEETING
Paris (France), September 21-22, 2006
The partners of TRAINING ON STAGE met in Paris to analyse the beta version of
the software. The software will be able to evaluate the competencies of the
users, suggesting the closest jobs and the proximity value to a specific job,
according to the user’s answers to the questionnaires.
The sw designer has presented the trial version to the working team and
during the meeting the last features have been defined. AGECIF, which is
charge to develop the logical structure of the sw, has presented the methodological
aspects of the software, introducing the criteria for the choice of the
questions both the general and specific questionnaires as well as the logic
for the answer given by the software.
The partners have also agreed about the methodology for the testing phase.
So, in October we will be able to start this phase, in order to test the sw
and to improve it according to the suggestions by the testers.
3rd COORDINATION MEETING
Bucharest (Romania), April 12-13, 2006
Alessio Lorenzi presents the situation of the first phase, providing a
resuming document. We discuss together how to help ICIMSS and Teatrul Ion

the correspondance between the interviews of each partner and the intreviews
received by Fondazione Aida.
Alessio Lorenzi presents the structure of the repertoire of professional
profiles discussed with AGECIF. The repertoire will be soon ready in English
and sent to the partners. After that, each partner has to organise a seminar
to disseminate this output. The partners discuss about target group and type
of seminar: AGECIF will organise many little work group with students,
professionals and experts in training; Theater an der Parkaue would like to
involve one school / university to present the results to students of cultural
management and to other interested institutions / professionals.
Then, Alessio Lorenzi presents goals, methodologies and target group of the
dissemination phases (4th phase of the project), providing a document.

2nd
COORDINATION MEETING
Verona (Italy), October 7-8, 2005
The meeting was devoted to updating partners about the first phase of
the project, analysing the situation in each country and established shared
working methods.
It is also the opportuntiy to introduce the second phase of the project: the
implementation of the vocational training model. The most important thing is
to define the logic of the software: starting from the survey, we will have
to do the list of competencies, the rank of competencies on the basis of each
of the 20 professional profiles. The discussion focuses on the contents of the
handbook: the suggestions are to include the methodologies of the software,
the different way to use it, the choice of the professional profiles you find
inside, .... Any suggestion will be sent to Fondazione Aida which will gather
them and share a common document with all partners. It is established to
register the web site “Training on stage”.ue / .net, / .org.
The dissemination has already started. Each partner is responsible for this
activity in its own country. Each partner is required: a) to put information
on its own website about the project as soon as possible, at latest by the
end of December 2005, and to send to Fondazione Aida the link of the web pages;
b) to produce a flyer on the project by the end of January 2006. Fondazione
Aida will prepare a layout with a basic text, which is to be translated into
national languages. The partners has discussed about an international version
of the flyer to be spread out through Europe; c) to prepare contact lists of
people and organisations to be informed about the project and its results.
The lists shoudl include: press; perfoming arts enterprises; vocational
training centres, public institutions, trade unions, training network as
Encatc (www.encatc.org) or cultural network (as IETM, Assitej...), as well as
all the organisations contacted for the questionnaires and interviews (Phase
1); d) to send to Fondazione Aida any material concernign the dissemination adn
promotion actities (press release, articles, flyer and printed materials....)
to be included in the project dossier.
The second part of the meeting is dedicated to the analysis of the intreim
report: it concerns both activities and financial aspects occurred from 1st
october 2004 to 30th september 2005. The foms for the interim report are
presented. each partner is asked to provide a summary of its activities and
financial aspects. Fondazione Aida will send the forms to the partners by
e-mail, indicating the part to be fulfilled, as agreed. The deadline to give
it to the national Agency is the 15th of november; the deadlines for each of
us to prepare it and deliver it to Fondazione Aida is the 30th October.
RESEARCH
TEAM TRAINING MEETING
London (United Kingdom), April 7-10, 2005
This meeting was devoted to the training on the research staff
involved in the first phase of the project. Emanuele Tagetto, the expert for the research, presented the
methology and the tools for the research and during an intensive
brainstorming meeting methodlogy and tools have been defined. Those are the
final results.
BACKGROUND ANALYSIS: In order to have comparable report, we have agreed about
the following structure of the report.
1) Performing arts sector (2/3 pages). First of all, it is necessary a
presentation of the performing arts field in each country. The description
should be qualitative, but also include some important general quantitative
data like number of the companies, number of employee in the field.
2) Classification system (2/3 pages). Second point is the jobs classification
system. The main question to evaluate are as follows:
- is there any jobs classification system? is it an official
(national/governmental) system_ or unofficial system (by trade unions, etc…)
- if any, does it include the professional profiles occurring in performing
arts sector? does it include the profiles in management, promotion and
administration?
- is it possible to have the description of the professional profiles we are
interested in?
- does it include a list (and an explanation) of the competencies?
3) Training (2/3 pages). The last part of the background analysis id devoted
to the (vocational) training system, specific for administration, management
and promotion. Concerning to this point, it is important to keep in mind our
objective (to know which are the available training courses for people
interested in this area). Therefore, we should include both high education
(universities, academies, "Hochschule"…), vocational training
courses and lifelong learning. We should consider also courses, master and so
on dedicated to the administration, management and promotion in the cultural
sector, not only in performing arts field.
4) Finally, bibliography and eventual annexes (e.g. list of schools and
universities, quantitative data, etc.).
QUESTIONNAIRE AND INTERVIEWS The model defined by Emanauele Tagetto have been
simplified both in the structure and in the text.
LIST OF PROFESSIONAL PROFILES: The meeting was dedicated to implement a list
of possible professional profiles to be investigated. In fact, the original
idea was to obtain this list through the questionnaire. During the seminar,
we have discussed and built a list of professional profiles. We have
discussed, which are the professional profiles existing in the partners'
countries and (therefore) we should inviestigate. The discussion was focused
to the relevance and principal tasks of these profiles. The final list is of
professional profiles is:
1. ADMINISTRATION: 1.1 Administration and financial manager; 1.2
Administration and financial manager assistant; 1.3 Accountant (Bookkeeper);
1.4 Personnel and payroll; 1.5 Copyright manager
2. MANAGEMENT: 2.1 General manager; 2.2 General Executive Producer; 2.3
Programming manager; 2.4 Project Manager; 2.5 Development manager (Found
raising); 2.6 Human resources; 2.7 Production assistant; 2.8 Touring
Assistant; 2.9 Event manager (Head of Events); 2.10 Operations manager; 2.11
Secretary (Executive assistance)
3. PROMOTION, 3.1 Production sales manager; 3.2 Production sales manager
assistant; 3.3 Communication manager (Marketing); 3.4 Press office manager;
3.5 Press office assistant; 3.6 Graphic Designer/Web designer; 3.7 PR
manager; 3.8 PR assistant manager; 3.9 Education manager; 3.10 Education
program Manager; 3.11 Ticket sales (Box-office); 3.12 Hospitality manager
METHODOLOGY AND TIME SCHEDULE: the research group established methodlogy and
time schedule according to result of the meeting.
1st
COORDINATION MEETING
Verona, November 20-21, 2004
As first coordination meeting, the partners ontroduce themselves to other.
Elena Plebani presents the project Training on stage. She marks that the
financing by the UE Commission is the 74% of the budget. She starts to read
the aims of the project : it is intended to provide an opportunity for young
people, whether students or job-seekers, to analyse their occupational skills
and personal abilities as well as their talents and motivation with a view to
defining an occupational project and, where necessary, a training project.
Through the building of a vocational training model, the propject will
develop a real and objective evaluation tool to counsel young people towards
the right paths for working in the performing art field. The project will not
envolve directly young people or job-seekers, but put them in contact with
Institutions, University, Public and privare labour agencies and counsel tham
about their professional needs in this fiels. The professional profiles that
the project will describe are 25 but, the model, being web-based and the
market being in continuous evolution, can be reviewed and completed. The
model will distributed to training centres, enterprises, universities,
private and public labour agencies, schools _and could be used directly in
the website of the project by young people.
A test of the model will be developped: 30 young people, 10 vocational
training centres and 10 performing enterprises will be asked to give an
opinion on the fruibility of the model. After this test, the partners will
check all the results and will build the final model. _The fourth phase of
the project consists in the dissemination and will envolve each partner.
Alessio Lorenzi show the budget step by step: what are the costs covered by
the EU grant and for what percentage, what are the step of payment and the
general rules for the administration.
About the software, Elena suggest to look for and make a subcontract with a
society that will work for every partner in the same way, but it would be
more complicate than make only one contract to Fondazione Aida for example.
Chrissie Tiller suggests a second possibility: to make only one contract with
the software society by Fondazione Aida. Everybody agrees to ask to the
Italian National Agency the possibility to change this point to semplify the
burocratic admnistrative management in every single country.
As regards the first phase, Chrissie Tiller proposes that each partner
engages an interviewer from its country who will be coordinated by the expert.
Everybody agrees thinking it’s a good idea especially to avoid language
problems, and agree to talk about it with the expert of the survey. Also she
suggests to have the second meeting to share the results in May during
Eunetart meeting at the same time with the presentation of the software.
Alessio Lorenzi informs the other parners that the contract has been prepared
following the hints and model of the National Agency. Now follows the reading
of it.As regards intellectual property, all the partners agree to add a
specific article in the contract in which it is foreseen that each partner
have the possibility to disseminate the software in his own country.
